Dr Helen Mackinnon
Chair of Fundraising
Helen trained in medicine before developing work in special needs, music therapy and child bereavement. Helen’s last position was as Director of SeeSaw in Oxfordshire – a child bereavement service in which she developed rapid response support following sudden death, especially after suicide. As Director, Helen also submitted trust and grant applications, supported community and corporate fundraising, and left SeeSaw in a very strong financial position.
Under Helen’s leadership, SeeSaw was awarded the GlaxoSmithKline/King’s Fund Impact Award for 2016 – one of just 10 small to medium charities in the UK to receive this award. Her writing has been given three Plain English Awards between 2013 and 2016.
Helen will maintain direct contact with disabled young people and their families as well as developing support for the Chamwell Centre through community and corporate involvement and making trust applications for funding.
