Dame Janet Trotter OBE DBE
Janet taught mixed ability children in Kent for eight years before moving to Winchester and then Lancaster to lecture in education and theology. She has degrees in theology, education and management science.
She moved to Cheltenham in 1986 to be the Principal of the College of St Paul and St Mary, leading the college to university status in 2001.
Janet has been a non-executive director of health organisations since 1991 and chaired the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2002 to 2010. She is President of the Gloucestershire Arthritis Trust and also holds similar positions with Gloucestershire Carers and AgeUK Gloucestershire.
Janet became Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire in 2010 and she has a passion for ensuring that every person develops their potential. Her commitment to the Chamwell Centre springs from this commitment for all with disability.
